Josh Berson
FEATURED POET (Poem In Menu)
Josh Berson is a reflective local poet/writer/human in St. Louis, Missouri. He is 33 years old and is from Creve Coeur, Missouri. He has lived and travelled to and around several few different regions and places over the last decade and a half, returning to St. Louis in 2019. He now lives in South city, where he has lived for the last few years now.
It is his deep goal and experience for writing to be a place to returning and centering, of anchoring; of coalescing and giving form in words to aspects of body and mind; his existential perception and relationship to himself, others, and the world overall unfolding. He uses writing and poetics to, (if nothing else), consolidate and if possible through language offer support and aid to the real intangible felt senses, both within self and spheres relational also, through life and time— and if possible connect with others who might feel and know similar lived experience of feeling/mind and life, if it’s there.

“Snow Portal to/with Self”
Falling snow, so much stressful decisioning.
Yet beyond the mind’s efforting.
Opening the door, bundled for a moment, to the cold air.
There, alone, listening.
The Earth and its snow falls and is calm in its not complicated happening.
There were other moments where this sound was one of peace.
Closing the door after one last breath.
Trying… to see through the “neverwell of now.”
To this nature and its soft falling of snow.
There is a quiet there.
A portal to a more kind moment.
Find your missing self, there.
In the gentleness of the falling snow.
Alone, but not alone.
Not seeing, yet sensing.
A different way to be.
In its sound of a different reality.
