  • Poetry Feature (Free)

    SATURDAY, JULY 20TH, 8:30P - 9:00P

    Featured Show (4 Poets)

Join us for poetry night at Luvwoo Bar where we will feature 4 local original poets in the area! Read about them below!

(Top Left) R.T. Freer has been a poet since 2008, and more recently, a songwriter and music producer. His messages encourage self-reflection, love, and a more spiritual connection with one another.

(Top Right): Whois Ardimus, a name that resonates with the echoes of modern introspection and timeless reflection, is a distinguished poet whose work bridges the gap between the traditional and the contemporary. Born with a keen sense of the world’s intricacies, Ardimus has crafted a unique poetic voice that delves into the depths of human emotion, societal constructs, and the subtle beauty of everyday life. Ardimus's journey into poetry began in the early years, drawing inspiration from the natural world and the diverse tapestry of human experiences. This early fascination with words and their power to evoke emotion led to a lifelong commitment to the craft of poetry. With a style that is both lyrical and profoundly thought-provoking, Whois Ardimus has established a reputation for pushing the boundaries of conventional poetry. The poet’s work is characterized by a distinctive blend of vivid imagery, poignant metaphors, and a rhythm that mirrors the complexities of existence. Ardimus’s poems are not merely written but are carefully woven tapestries that invite readers to explore their own inner landscapes. Each piece is a journey, an exploration of the self and the myriad influences that shape our perceptions and realities.

(Bottom Left): Jared C. Lewis, the American lyricist/poet born and raised in St. Louis, MO, makes words dance in such a way that you want to hear the music aloud. Aside from establishing himself as an artist, his greatest challenge of the past few years has been fatherhood. There are lots of balance and boundaries to be found. 𝘈 Leannan (The Lover), his forthcoming first full-length collection is due to release in Spring of 2025 accompanied by an anthology of shorts, taking poetry beyond it's perceived boundaries. Being self-taught and a non-traditional learner, he is now seeking mentorship, residencies as well as ways to engage more people with poetry.

(Bottom Right): Rychuss Wun is a talented multifaceted artist, originally from New Orleans, LA. Currently residing in the St. Louis metro area Rychuss delivers a unique blend of soul, hip hop, and spoken word. Inspired by 90's boom bap style hip hop and the soulful vibes of the 70's funk and soul era, his sound is a nostalgic yet refreshing take on contemporary music. Currently, Rychuss Wun is working on two exciting projects. The first is the highly anticipated "MasterPeace" EP series, which will be released in three parts. The second is an part of an instrumental LP series "W/O Rhyme Or Reason Vol 2". Both set to be released before the end of 2024.

“Fearful Lover”

I don’t wanna worry about losing you

Being too socially connected to the misguided networks,

we shape our lives to,

I wanna be different

I wanna fall in love with your teeth

Your radiant smile will have me do backflips legless until the sun bleed blue teardrops

Hoping somehow it finds its way to your doorstep in shape of my feeble heart

I wanna be your protector

Sheltering your every emotions

Brainwashing your mind to think that I was the only one made for you,

And you were the only one made for me

Because I don’t want to lose you

If I could, I would reach into my

Opening my rib cage

Killing me and give you my heart

Because I love you

But I’m scared too
